Will he stay or will he go?

Chris Bosh was the face of the franchise for the Toronto Raptors. After finishing the season in 9th place, and out of the playoffs, Bosh was left in a state of distress. He is committed to winning and was not very pleased when his team could not even finish in a playoff seeding. This summer the Raptor star is a free agent. The Raptors would love to re-sign him and give him the maximum contract he deserves, however he is still undecided on what his plan will be for next season.

The fact is that it looks likely the star will be on his way out of town. He was very displeased with his Raptors teammates down the stretch and ended up using his Twitter account to say, “Been wanting to ask. Where should I go next season and why?" An hour later he then recounted saying, “Ok... Let me rephrase the question. Should I stay or should I go?" Even though, the second tweet gives the thought that he may stay in Toronto it is very unlikely. Bosh feels that the Raptors lack depth and he wishes to pursue an NBA Championship. Without some key acquisitions in the offseason Bosh is gone. Given that GM Brian Colangelo committed over $100 million last year to Andrea Bargnani and Hedo Turkoglu over the next 5 years, the Raptors will have to go over the luxury tax threshold in order to attract any additional free agents. This seems unlikely given past spending patterns of the franchise.

Furthermore, Bosh recently updated his Twitter account’s biography by removing his status claiming to be the Raptor’s captain. All I have to say is goodbye CB4, and that he is yet another basketball star on his way out of town. My thoughts are that he will end up in Houston or Chicago. However, it is up to him not me, but I would like to thank him for his time in Toronto. He always gave his best, and was committed to winning for the Raptors up until now. All I can hope now is that Toronto is able to sign one of the many free agents in this summer’s class. What are your thoughts Raptor fans?
