Big step for Canadian Soccer

Major League Soccer (MLS) will welcome the Montreal Impact in the 2012 season. Montreal will become the 3rd Canadian franchise in the league, joining the Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps, who will become a team in 2011. The MLS is very happy with the new franchise, as Montreal already boasts a huge soccer fan base and it will allow the MLS to truly become a North American league.

With 3 teams in Canada it is beginning to show that because of our multicultural society, Canada is a country with a great number of soccer enthusiasts. Growing up more and more children are being exposed to soccer through house leagues and now can watch major league teams in their own marketplace. The move to Montreal will also allow Toronto FC to have a major rival in the MLS.

Toronto FC continues to be Canada’s team at the present so come out and support your team.
